1. What data do we collect?

When using GamerVault we process the following personal data:

  • Account data: Name, email address, and profile picture via Google sign-in
  • Data you enter: Game collections, console lists, wishlists, listings, and messages
  • Usage data: Last login, last seen, preferred language, and notification settings
  • Device data: Not actively collected — we do not log IP addresses or user agents

2. How do we use your data?

We use your data solely for:

  • Operating the application (managing collections, marketplace, messages)
  • Notifications (wishlist deals, friend requests, trade offers)
  • Security and maintenance of the Service
  • Improving the user experience

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

3. Google Analytics

GamerVault uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to analyze general user behavior. Google Analytics collects anonymized statistics. You can opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

4. Cookies

GamerVault uses functional cookies for:

  • Authentication (session management via Google OAuth)
  • Preferences (theme choice, language settings)
  • Security (CSRF tokens, session validation)

No third-party tracking cookies are placed.

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored on secure servers in Europe (Hetzner, Germany). Backups are stored encrypted. We retain data for as long as you have an active account. After account deletion, data is permanently erased within 30 days.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:

  • Access: Request what data we hold about you
  • Rectification: Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing
  • Data portability: Request an export of your data

7. Security
